The class was engaging and highly informative. It hammers in the fundamentals that you think you already know and teaches you everything else from gun parts and mechanics, to how to react in high stress, dangerous situations, and how to deal with the law, lawyers, and court. I went in as a novice with, what I thought was a fair amount of knowledge. I left with much more, as well as the confidence to stand my ground and the understanding and respect for the world of gun safety and ownership. I look forward to attending the more advanced training courses that are offered.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Levi was professional, relatable, and conducted a very educational “classroom” session followed-up by a very well run range session. Unlike other courses I have participated in (moved a few times), Levi didn’t use this time to tell a bunch of “war stories” or to speak hyperbolically about the nature of carrying. He presented facts, shared a few relevant and personal opinions, and kept the class to track and focused on the intent of the classroom. I was very happy with the course and look forward to booking more advanced sessions with Levi in the future. On the range, he did a great job of identifying not only the areas of opportunity for each participant, no matter what the skillset, but also managed to do that while focusing the majority of his time on participant(s) that needed a little more attention for safety and teaching. He did this without offending anybody and also seemed to have a grata pulse for what was typical “new” mistakes versus what could be neglect. His efforts ensured all in the class felt safe. Thank you, Levi!

I am so grateful to have chosen Guardian. It seems like training is Levi’s second language- he was so very thorough and easy to follow throughout all of the lessons and all that there was to learn! This was a very important and personal decision to get my CPL, so I have been nervous about what class would look like. I couldn’t have imagined it going any more comfortably than it did, I feel knowledgeable about what to do next, and empowered to continue training and improving my skills. Thank you!!

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Levi is a great guy to work with. His only concern is to get it right and make you happy. He is using a new state of the art transfer program that makes it super quick and easy. If you need an FFL go see Levi. It will be a good experience.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We thoroughly enjoyed the training we received at Guardian Training Academy. I’ve attended trainings where the instructor constantly says “um” or lets their ego get in the way by trying to show off everything they know—but that was definitely not the case with Levi. I know there are plenty of places around the Portage/Kalamazoo area that offer CPL training, but Guardian Training Academy stands out. They provide a free CPL textbook (which Levi mentioned many other companies charge for), free breakfast with coffee and plenty of donuts, and free lunch (pizza). They also kept a refrigerator stocked with drinks throughout the class, including several types of pop, Gatorade, and water. I think those thoughtful extras, combined with Levi’s exceptional teaching ability, made it easy to stay engaged and attentive throughout the day. He’s incredibly knowledgeable, professional, and approachable, and we genuinely felt we received training from someone who truly knew the material and cared about teaching it well.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Just took the CPL/self defense class and it was excellent. Comprehensive information thoroughly explained by Levi who is a great presenter. Classroom work was well supported by Levi’s experience as a police officer and his handling of range activities was done in a safe, controlled manner. Levi was open to questions and discussion on all topics throughout the day. I highly recommend this course!

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Took my CPL class today and Levi is an excellent instructor. This is my second time going through a CPL class and it was very nice getting to learn this time from someone with first world experience. If you’re shopping around for where to take your class this is the place.
